Admiralty House on Platform Road was originally built in 1902 as the General Post Office for Southampton Docks. The building was used for sorting the post going on and coming off the various ocean liners berthed in the docks, including that of the Titanic. Later the building was used as a Post Office telephone exchange and survives today as flats.
