Stuart issued many cards of the Old Walls, with at least two completely different views numbered 491 (see this card for example). In Stuart's day the land of what is now West Quay had yet to be reclaimed, so the walls lined the western shore of Southampton and were a hive of nautical activity with various boat builders and chandlers having premises there.
